An iconic charity motoring event is coming to the Sunshine Coast this weekend, raising funds for people with disability.

Dozens of rally teams from across Queensland will descend on the Coast over the May Day long weekend for the Great Endeavour Rally Weekend Edition.

Endeavour Foundation event specialist Nathan Woolhouse said the Weekend Edition was perfect for newbies and veterans alike.

“From start to finish, you’ll be faced with a range of navigational challenges, testing your driving skills, knowledge and teamwork,” he said.

“It’s ideal for people who have always wanted to give an off-road charity car rally a try before they commit to a full rally, experienced rally drivers who want to brush up on their skills, or anyone who simply wants to spend a fun weekend out bush.

“The Weekend Edition will take you on a wild ride, starting at Kin Kin and heading through the stunning forests and Cooloola Coast hinterland of Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.

“It’s the perfect opportunity to spend your May long weekend with family and friends while supporting a great cause.”

The Great Endeavour Rally returns this weekend.

Mr Woolhouse said time was running out to register.

“If you have a four-wheel-drive with decent clearance, you can probably do the Weekend Edition, but if you’re not sure, give us a call or fill out the form on our website as soon as you can,” he said.

“We have limited spaces left and registrations will soon be closing.”

Registration is $200 per person or $500 for a family of two adults and two children, which includes full catering, camping and event entry.

Teams are required to fundraise a minimum of $350 to participate but if an individual is determined and raises upwards of $1500 they will take home almost the same value in camping equipment.

“Thanks to Endeavour Foundation’s commercial partners, we’re able to offer our supporters some great incentives including tents, stoves, and full camp oven sets,” Mr Woolhouse said.

The Great Endeavour Rally Weekend Edition goes from April 29 to May 1.

Registrations close on April 28. For more information or to register visit great.endeavour.com.au.
